Fuse question
I have a 98 Grand Cheroke 5.9 Limited SUV 4WD. Which fuse operates the heated seats? Is there one for the passenger seat and one for the driver's seat? Where is it located? Inside panel or inside the engine box? The passenger side works, but the driver's side doesn't so I thought I would start by checking the fuses. I purchased this car used and do not have a manual.
Thanks, Neil |

Re: Fuse question
From the information I looked at, the heater for the passenger seat as well as the driver seat, use the same fuses and circuit breaker, so if the heater for the passenger seats works, I don't think the fuses or circuit breaker is the problem with the driver seat, good thinking though. There could be a problem with the wiring circuit to the driver seat, but, that would be after the fuses and breaker.
There should be a 4 wire connector under the seat toward the rear for the heating elements in the seat. Open the connector, with the key off, on the seat side of the connector, do an ohms test between terminals A&B resistance should be between .9 and 1.4 ohms. If you have infinite resistance, there is an open in one of the heater elements. I believe there are two heater elements for the seat. |
