94 door locks

hi everyone.I have a 94 S15 Jimmy amd where I live(used to be country)things are getting pretty bad,so I put a Viper 5900 alarm system in to deter the bad guys.My buddy was telling me there is a link on the door lock that I can break so that if they pick the lock the cylinder just spins.I took the panel off the driver side door but the lock is way up at the top and the window track bar is in the way.Since the door is welded and there is no way to access the lock, does any one know how to remove the lock or break the link?

Re: 94 door locks

Well,to answer my own question. It was not as difficult as I thought to get the locks out.All I had to do was take off the handle and pull the horse shaped retainer off the lock to slide it out, then pull the controll rod off of the lock and re-assemble.Thanks to me for helping myself out,and thats how to do it if anyone else needs help and can't get it.
