Flasher location? 2001 Dakota Quad cab

Wanting to replace flasher with heavy duty one for trailer towing but can't locate it. Haynes manual says it is located under dash drivers side just above data link, but can't find it there. Also checked both fuse boxes, no luck. Went to AutoZone where I bought flasher and they could not find it either. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. K.O.

Flasher module is located about 1 inch above and to the left of the ALDL connector. It is a module instead of small flashers. It is about 2 by 2.5 inches by 1.25 inches in size. It is clipped on to a metal brace with a slide clip.

I doubt the flasher from Auto Zone will work. This shows to be a dealer only part.

You don't need to change the flasher. The flasher from the factory will do fine. It has internal circuitry that will automatically adjust to the extra load.
