Reprogramed car remote?????????
 Does anybody know how to reprogram the keyless remote for the Volvo XC 90 or recommend a place to reprogram it. I know the dealer could do it, but any other place. Thanks in advance.

Because it's a use one and it cheap. only the dealer have the special code and they charge around $150 to repropram it and IT not garantee that it'll work. And a brand new one cost $485 (that's with the cut key and special code for XC90). So if you or anyone else know anyplace that do it cheaper please reply here. Thanks.

Well the dealer can't get codes ethier, it comes on the package, that the remote came in. If that little sticker is lost, there is no way to program it, and your dealer should know this and should not even try.
Do you need a key?? The reason I ask in that is seperate, and requires a seperate software download to program. You can buy the remote and key sererate from each other. It take software to program the remote, but you also have to have the codes, a 16 digit and a 8 digit. But if you have a used one, you or the dealer have no way of getting the codes. Sorry the only place I know of to buy a remote is from Volvo, BUT you can go to other shops to have it programmed, if they have the factory system and access to the software, serveral specialty Volvo shops do.

So to anyone else that reads this, do not buy your remotes off ebay for anything '99 and newer. If don't have the codes that came with the remote they are junk. And the dealer can't get them either.

There is one other place to buy a brand new remote (myswedishparts.com) but they still tell you to go to the dealer to have it program + they also sell you a blank XC90 key their. You can have them cut it too if you have prove that the car is yours. There is know other place that have a software program except the dealer and you know they charge you a ridiculous price. And yes I do need another remote with the key.

Better check the remote if it is reprogrammed especially for your car and test it before you buy one.
