turn off auto door locks on a 96

Hello bought a 96 with no owners manual and id like to turn off the auto lock after you start driving..thanks

Why would you want to do that for?
Are you a Jumper?
What about your Kids?
There might be a fuse you can pull for the door lock activators.

Sometimes they can be a real pita. Say you are dropping somebody off while you have it in drive with your foot on the brake. They get out, close the door, and then realize they need to get back in for some reason. Well, they can't, because the auto door locks will automatically lock the door right behind you in that type of scenario. Other scenarios have happened to me too as the driver, but never the driver's door. I think it annoys my wife the most as she's always in the pass seat and gets locked out a lot. You asked, now you know.

No need to pull any fuses which would deactivate the power locks all together, starting on page 132 of the manual is the procedure to deactivate the auto locks.

I know everyone is in the hurrey these days,but think safety.
When people are getting in and out of car,the car should be in Park.
It's when you leave it in drive,or put it in drive they will Auto lock.
Think about car jacking! ,I want my car doors to lock ,if I forgot.

Irregardless of park and drive and one's personal preference thereof, the locks lock too aggresively and my wife and I find it excessive to lock itself so much, as we find each other on opposite sides of locked doors far too frequently for no good reason, like in my yard. Where we live, locking the vehicle while you drive or parking it at home is not a concern. If you feel you need such a "Fort Knox" mentality to keep safe, why are you in such an unsafe place, since safety is such a high concern? That's why I live where I do.

What Country, I mean community do you live in ?
All we can do is Min Risk,I heard of kids getting choked by electric windows,
or maybe it was child abuse.
How many kids have been killed by Car Accidents.
Please don't run over your kids feet.
