Just picked up a new 08 Spectra5
Just got a brand spankin' new classic red Spectra5 SX. I plan on buying and getting the Eibach Sportline Springs installed pronto by the dealer. My wife's nephew is a service tech at the place I bought the car from so I'm only going to have him work on it. He's always been a domestic guy but he is ASE certified and was called by the owner of the dealership personally to come work there so I think that's a safe bet.
I went to get a K&N Airfilter but it said in the book that they do not offer one for this car. Is that true or was the guide simply out of date? I opened the filter box and noticed that the filter looks like a high end Purolater filter so I guess that'll work. Also, does anybody make a header for the KIA Spectra5 besides KIA-FX? I'm not going to install one for awhile since the car is brand new and I'd like to maintain the warranty just in case something decides to f-up. But I'm curious because people have to realize how restricting the pre-cat is right smack in the engine bay bolted to the short runner having exhaust manifold. The thing that sucks about the KIA-FX header is they say that the 1st O2 sensor will plug right in the existing spot, but the second one will need to be fabbed up somehow. I guess they couldn't simply add two bung holes to the header. WTF? Well, maybe by the time my warranty is up somebody will have made a quality header etc. I'll post pics soon. EDIT: Just ordered a K&N filter cuz they don't carry them in the stores Based on the pictures of filter brands I believe the stock filter may be a Fram. EWE! F a Fram ![]() Anyway, I'm not going to mod the car... just the air filter, the Eibach springs and maybe 35% tint.

Re: Just picked up a new 08 Spectra5
Nah. I like the "Spectra5" and "SX" in the rear. Yes, I have the hot red S3CKS model...
![]() I will have the "Spectra" decal removed from the doors though... pinstriping will stay. Just because it says KIA doesn't mean it's bad thing. I think of it more like a 00 Civic Si got butt f*cked by a Toyota Matrix... and the result is a combination of both.
