Correct idle speed for 1999 villager

Does anyone know what the idle speed is supposed to be for the villager. My idle screw was not even touching the throttle. I have it idling at 1500 right now when in park.

Thanks,

700 plus or minus 50 in park or neutral.

There are several reasons why idle could be at high rpm.
Check out Throttle Position Sensor, IAC and fast idle cam.

Go to the SERVICE MANUAL thread below your and dwnload the FSM for your Villager. It will help you out.

Re: Correct idle speed for 1999 villager

OK...Well, we replaced the distributer a few days ago but we did not check the timing since it seemed to run well. However, it started acting funny once it warmed up so I had a friend check the timing today. We used the manual for the setting which said to set it at position 15.

The question I have is this, that pulley had to be replaced about a year ago and they replaced it with a new part that was for the nissan quest becuase of the price difference. The manual says that their are only supposed to be 5 marks but the one on my van has 7. Would they still start at 0 and we should set it at 15?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,
