1965 Buick Wildcat
Hello Everyone and thanks for allowing me to be a part of this forum. I've got a question that will hopefully be simple to answer so here goes. My mom has a 1965 Buick Wildcat and I'm not sure what type, I've looked on Nada to find that there is a Wildcat, Wildcat Deluxe and a Wildcat Custom. I'm not exactly sure how to tell the difference so if anyone has any info I would be GREATLY appreciative.
Thanks again for everyones help, Robert |

Re: 1965 Buick Wildcat
Unless the dash emblem or trim has some hints, it might be difficult to determine. The old cowl mounted stamped trim code plates don't usually offer a lot of assistance. The VIN probably won't help much, either, since GM didn't have encoding of sub-models in the VIN.
Still, it might help to find the cowl plate and see what you can find:

On the cowl it said 465 torque? If yours is a custom it will have a 401 engine and either 1 or 2 4bbl carbs. They also came with 4 speed believe it or not. Also if it is custom it should either have the holes or the word custom after wildcat on the rear side panel. Cheers Stripe |
