RPM's go up when parked

sometimes when i get home and put my car in park, the RPM's go up to 2000 and stay there. then when i turn off the car, it kind of shakes. anyone know whats wrong? thanks.

my car does the same thing but sometimes up to 3500. i was thinking the throttle may just be sticking but i can't figure it out.

There was a recall is some of the Lancer for this problem. You might want to get it checked out. My friend had a 2002 (or something like that) and his car would actually jerk while he was stopped because his RPMs were going. My car does the same thing but my car doesn't go no where cuz it's stick. Anyways, check the recalls on your car see if there are any.

it is a idle controll sensor a lot of mitsbishi's have had tis roblem
