Has anyone replaced the clutch in their 2005 Aveo yet, if so how many miles did you have on the car. If you replaced it your self was it a super headache. If you paid someone how much did it cost you. My Aveo will turn 50,000 in 700 more miles. I can tell the clutch is begining to slip.

Re: 2005 Aveo Clutch going out
clutch shouldnt be goin out at 50,000, u should get at least another 30-50k out of ur stock clutch. theres a fella on aveoclub.net who sells aftermarket clutches for the D16 tranny, id recommend one of those over another stocker. cant give u prices tho. check out gmpartsdirect.com for a good deal on an oem clutch. hope this helps ya some!

Re: 2005 Aveo Clutch going out
A clutch, if driven properly should last about 100,000 miles, maybe longer.
The replacement parts, are $80 clutch plate, about $130 pressure plate. Check the driving habits too. Never rest your foot on the clutch, because that causes excessive wear, don't downshift regularly, an $80 brake job is much cheaper than a $500 - $1000 chutch replacement (with labor). |
