Question 2005 Aveo Clutch going out

Has anyone replaced the clutch in their 2005 Aveo yet, if so how many miles did you have on the car. If you replaced it your self was it a super headache. If you paid someone how much did it cost you. My Aveo will turn 50,000 in 700 more miles. I can tell the clutch is begining to slip.

Re: 2005 Aveo Clutch going out

clutch shouldnt be goin out at 50,000, u should get at least another 30-50k out of ur stock clutch. theres a fella on aveoclub.net who sells aftermarket clutches for the D16 tranny, id recommend one of those over another stocker. cant give u prices tho. check out gmpartsdirect.com for a good deal on an oem clutch. hope this helps ya some!

Re: 2005 Aveo Clutch going out

A clutch, if driven properly should last about 100,000 miles, maybe longer.

The replacement parts, are $80 clutch plate, about $130 pressure plate.

Check the driving habits too. Never rest your foot on the clutch, because that causes excessive wear, don't downshift regularly, an $80 brake job is much cheaper than a $500 - $1000 chutch replacement (with labor).
