96 Taurus water pump pressure hose line broke
the hose that goes from the water pump to thermostat housing broke and is leaking all over the place the shop said it would cost up to 480 dollars to fix
does anyone have any write ups on how to change this line or if its do able on my own. any help would be appreciated. 1996 Taurus 24V DOHC

Did you do a search on this using the Taurus search on the main Taurus page using "bypass""hose""24v dohc". I don't know why it should be so expensive to replace. Depening on your skill level, tools, and confidence, I think you could do it. Having some sort of repair reference would be helpful. You can try looking at Autozone. com auto repair section on intake manifold for your car. There may be another section that might help. Some of these engines have the bypass hose you describe under the upper intake manifold. If so, that may require a longer repair and higher cost. But I'd rather let someone with more experience with your setup chime in.
