Re: rear defrost switch buzzing
yes it should definetely shut off by itself, i would guess you just need a new switch

Re: rear defrost switch buzzing
I Had the same problem with mine ,I just did not bother to fix it. I just shut it off when it started to buzz. Judging by all your posts It sounds as if You found your self a money pit to throw ALL your money into . This is just your first car and everyone had a first car ,do yourself a favour keep it safe brakes ,steering etc etc but don`t waste alot of money on other things ,door seals and things like that . The car is old and you will never get your money back out of it when you go to sell. I had a `91 also and it was a good one but you have to where to draw the line as far as repairs go. just my two cents. Good Luck with your Car

Re: rear defrost switch buzzing
well i bought the car for 400 because the quy was a mechanic and it saaat their for a while and the car had a SH!T load of cigeratte ashes in it and smelt bad so i cleaned it and it runns goood with 130k. i think it would be good to get the expensive switch becasue then i dont have to wory about pushing the wiper button on every time i need to see in the rain. the delay on the switch would be better casue then if i want delay i dont need to cut wires and put a delay switch in. it would save a lot of time and money cause if i screw up then i need new wires.

replaced them both casue u cant switch them out inside. trhe only thing i can think of is that when i bought the car their was sooooo much damn nicoteine all over that it must have seeped into the relay and shorted it out so this summer im going to pull the dash and clean it and maybe get anotherone or go back and tell the guy and exchange it and keep it out and put old one back in until i do so. well atleast i got delay now so i dont have to keeps hitting mish when it is raining out. since i bought the car a year ago and when i bought it, it had a shit load of ashes in it and when i cleaned it it had alot of nicotene. could this have seeped into the relay and causing it to short out? the connectorfor the wiper motor was melted by the wires so the car could have been in a flood or something. most of the connector are like that. it came from florida. have any of u used that car fax website?is it anygood? just want to know casue i might check out wut happened to the car.

Re: rear defrost switch buzzing
I own a 90 sunbird, and I was wondering if you are able to get a windshield wiper delay just by replacing the switch?
Also, mine buzzes after a few mins of having the rear window defrost too- and i really dont like it... Were you able to fix it? was it the switch or relay? where is the relay? thanks. |
