1992 MPV 2.6l 4 cyl

This mpv was running very well till now.It had normal tare and ware repare but nothing special.
My wife drive it very carefully and never race it.
it has 120000 miles.
It starts normal, run fast for 15 second(being cold) and shut off .
I replaced fuel filter,,checked fuel pump for pressure,it is ok,at 55 pounds pressure.
I checked the maf sensor, and is clean.
It starts with and without maf sensor, but only runs for 15 seconds.
I checked the sparks and they are there, after a run.I think that it could be that the distribuitor get Sparks only for 15 seconds at a time, being tired?
What could it be.
Anybody had this problem,if so,what was it?
I am sure this is one of the common problem and is not only my car that do that.
Thanks anticipated for any help i can get.

Re: 1992 MPV 2.6l 4 cyl

Hi Guys:I just wanted to let you know that my wife's van is back on the road for the last 4 days.
I also checKed,aditionally,to what is listed above:Cranck angle sensor,IA c valve, coil, ignition Module(power unit, mounted next to coil, and all wire Harneses, going to all this devices,to see if the resistance(ohms),is as it suppose to be.
I studed all it can be studed about this subjiect, and found very little Help,in Haynes, and Cilton Manuals.
I found a lot more informations,in Mitchel Book ,van Manual,at the County Library.
After checking everything, found out that the only, incorect reading was on the Maf sensor, wich suppose to have with key on,voltage on First and third pin,and it had voltage only on first pin ,it had B+12.
Also the self diagnostick showed code 11 Dinamic air flow fault.
I thought,is the IAC Valve(Idle air control),so i took it out ,clean it mounted it back about 5 times, back and forth.
Sometimes the car will run, better sometimes it will not start.
Finally i started thinking about the Maf sensor wireing harness showing no curent on pin 3.I checked the wires for a short, and there was none.
Finally i start looking in this forum again, and I found a post written,by a guy!!!!!SVCRASHJOSH!!!,(God Bless Him Forever, and Give him luck in Life)and he had a similar problem with mine and in his case it was the Computer unit, being bad.
So I went and took it out and sure enough, there was DAMAGE on the Mother board, indicating short circuit.
I sent the computer back to Av-pro in Florida,(cost me 160 dollars)and it came back in 8 days.
I mounted it in,and !!!!,Bingo!!!,the car runs like new(well except from some noise due to a hole in the exhaust!!!).
I also studyed what other so called specialists(some with TV shows),some on motorage, are answering ,to the same exact problem,my mpv, had, and all their advice was!!!!Balony!!!!.
AS an EXample:It is time for a major tune up for your car.
I am a life long Industrial Mechanic, and an amator car mechanic, but never have i had so much frustration.
I was ready to take my sledge Hammer, and smash it down to pieces.
So in the Hope that other people can learn from my pain,i wrote this post,as i see nobody else touched this problem till now.
Bad computer as mine were installed on 1989-1994,:Mazda trucks,All Mitsubishi and Chrisler imports,Hyundai,Suzuki,Geo Tracker,if not sure check with AV-PRO.
Best Regards
