my cps is not sensing the crankshaft 98 zx2
i put a new cps in my car put its not sending any signals to the spark timing if there is something i can check please let me know thanks

With a voltmeter, check for battery voltage at the ckp connector disconnected from the ckp with the key on eng off. It should be close to battery voltage, but not necessarily exactly the same. If that's good, then switch your meter to AC volts and connect to the back two connections on the ckp sensor. Then rotate the crankshaft with a socket wrench etc. If working, you will see voltage pulses as the gear toothed ring turns past the sensor. No pulse means the ckp is no good. Hope that helps.

did you put the taper or slope that is on the end the same way as the one you replaced? if it is backwards then it ain't gonna sense anything. also just because it is a new one does not mean it is good. there are bad ones sold everyday.
