Angry HELP! 2003 Sebring problems

Here is my problem....
I brought my 2003 Sebring into the shop yesterday because it was starting to bog and the check engine light came on. Today they are telling me that it could be a bent valve based on a leak test that may have caused burning somewhere in cylinder #3. They told me that it is going to cost me $1500 to $2000 to fix it. I am not looking to spend that kind of money. Can anyone help me by letting me know if this is really the case with a 5 year old car and worth it or do I take it somewhere else.....or even other options as to what could be wrong with it. Any and all suggestions are welcome.
