4 or 5 bolt crank pulley

I did a compression test on my 94 Metro and found to have 185psi on #1&2 and 65 on #3.
So I started looking at a jdm engine for it.
Apparently there's two types of G10 engines 4 or 5 bolts on the crank pulley.
I think the 4 bolt is threw 5/94 and the 5 bolt is from 6/94.
My Metro was made in 6/94 and has the 5 bolt crank pulley.

Does it mater if I use a 4 or 5 bolt will they both work?

Thanks,
W00dy

Re: 4 or 5 bolt crank pulley

either engine will work, usually have to swap the intake, distributer and sometimes exhaust from old engine. the 4 bolt pulley uses the square tooth belt and 5 bolt uses the round tooth one. you can actually swap the crank and cam gear and plastic cover if you get a 4 bolt and want to use 5 bolt one.

When you say square tooth belt are you referring to the timing belt?

Thanks,

Exactly what I had to do on my 2nd JDM Engine swap into Metro #2 of Mine. 1st JDM Engine swap had a 4 bolt pulley in my 94 Metro #1 (RIP.....Severe hail damage in a bad Storm.... ), Yanked that engine out and put into my 2nd 94 Metro 4 Door (Blown Motor). That engine was a 5 bolt in my latest Metro, I Swaped over to the 5 bolt pulley setup during the install, due to the fact that it was time for a new timing belt on the engine, and the 5 bolt (Round) belt was all they had in Stock at Autozone.

Yes, it will work. The G-10 3 Cyl Engine is what came in the Geo Metros /Suzuki Swift. The engine in that pic looks like a low mile JDM Engine. As Crvett69 allready stated: You might have to swap the intake, distributer and sometimes exhaust from your old engine onto the new one.
Also ask Crvett69 on this board where to find a low mile JDM Engine. A couple of people sell them on E-Bay as well.
