'02 GCL 4.0 Selec-Trac 85k mi. 1-2-OD (42re?)
I've searched, and not really found a replicate problem or definite answer for this. For almost a year now (not mine, would've taken care of it already) when coming to a stop/stopped, there is a clunk at the same time as a lurch, followed by slow acceleration. Occasionally stalls when in gear and stopped, but starts right back up. Also, sometimes engine light stays on during this. I've kind of seen all sorts of answers, CPS, u-joints, some coupling needing grease (different materials - different expansion rates...) front band, ect. Also, is it normal for the 4wd to need the forward-reverse treatment to disengage? Any info greatly appreciated, thank you.
