any good ways to get busted bolts out of my heads, i got 4, on a 6.0 putting headers on it shortly, didn't know if there were any good tricks besides building them up and welding nuts to them

Re: headers

bg makes this penetrating oil that is like wd-40 on crack... its called enforce. find it, soak them for a few hours, spraying them down periodically and they should break free with no problems.

Re: headers

That would work on the ones that arent busted off yet, but what would be a good way to get snapped ones out of the head, i have always wondered that myself, just never ran into the problem yet.

Re: headers

I'm also curious about this. I've got one busted on each side. Once the weather turns warm again and I get my car out, I'm gonna take a look at it as well. Also, since i'm taking the exhaust manifolds off, i'm gonna replace them, as they shrink up, and was curious about shorty headers. Are they any good? I can get 'em off ebay for 150 a pair, dunno if they're worth lookin at or not. Havent priced manifolds either, curious about which way you guys would go?

Re: headers

shorty headers are the way to go, because stock manifolds warp thats what made my bolts break off in the heads, and there a pain to get back on, i took and welded great with washers to them like for snow plow guides and then welded a nut to that and they came out hard but they came out,

They're fine if you just want a replacement. Not much performance gain over the stock manifolds though.
