Chk. Eng. Light - Tested Knock Sensor?
Hi all,
A couple of weeks ago my check engine light appeared on my 2000 Nissan Quest (75k miles) I took it to the service station and they scanned it for error codes and found error 0325. They indicated that the Knock Sensor needs to be replaced at 700.00. I was shocked at the price so I called the dealer and they indicated that the check engine light would not come on if the Knock Sensor was bad. The questions I have include: - Is there something else going on beside the Knock Sensor or would that also show up in the scan. - I noticed that the Check Engine Light went out after I took it to the dealer. Does that mean I'm o.k. and can opt not to replace the Knock Sensor. I hate to spend unneccessary money, but I also want to protect my investment. Thanks for any help. Ed |

Re: Chk. Eng. Light - Tested Knock Sensor?
from what i have been told your check engine light will no go off for the knock sensor. I had the same problem and it was the 02 < a broken wire >
Not sure if the knock sensor is really worth replacing though |

Re: Chk. Eng. Light - Tested Knock Sensor?
From what I have read in the forum [email protected] the knock sensor rarely fails. The code means that the knock sensor has been activated by another problem creating a vibration causing the code. There is a informational file located in the FILES section of the mentioned forum relating to the knock sensor worth reading.
