98 grand am bad shift solenoids.. help replacing?
i have a 98 grand am se with the 2.4l in it. after thrashing the car around in 20" of snow, (didnt get stuck too much
) i have a check engine light. i plugged in a programmer and it came up with 3 engine codes. a throttle circuit code (an emissions code, dont remember which one) and 2 codes for shift solenoids. i know these are a relatively cheap fix, but i have no idea how to get to them, as i know absoloutely dick about auto transmissions. any help or pics would be great if yall got em. thanks guys, 98xploder

i forgot to mention... the thing stays stuck in park unless i reach down and hit the override tab. i can hear a relay clicking in my dash, so im gonna tear it down and figure that out today.

Re: 98 grand am bad shift solenoids.. help replacing?
You can probly change the shift solenoids your self, here is a link that has the run down!
http://autorepair.about.com/cs/doity.../aa011703b.htm For the shifter, that might be your shift interupt solenoid acting up from the trans dtc's/problems. Hope that helps.
