d series engine

Which d series engine would you guys recommend getting? I wanted a b16a, but due to my very limited budget, a desire to go fast now, and reading ami's many posts about how great the d series engines are, I've decided to get one. Just want to know which gives the most hp, easiest swap, etc. Thanks for any help.

you can use either the d16z6(93-95) or the d16y(96-00) motors, depends on which you can find and afford......

found a d16y8 on ebay for $75 with 27,000 miles it is dis-assembled. I was going to but it but I doesn't come with a tranny and I do not have a 5speed tranny so I would have to scour all over the place for a tranny.

you can. however, the si tranny is geared better. it is much easier to swap a tranny while it's out. you can find one for $250 or less...

The si tranny is geared for better acceleration right? I think I would keep mine since I'm already around 3000 rpm when I'm driving down the highway, and I don't really care that much about the little extra acceleration.
