DSMlink is a logger and it doesnt cost near one thousand dollars. You can get it for $600 out the door brand new with your ECU getting socketed, or you should be able to find used DSMlink with the ECU for about $650 or $450 for just the DSMlink.

Lean is the condition of not having enough fuel, no additives can make up for lack of sufficient fuel flow.

Also, I'm not trying to be a dick, but I would like to get to the bottom of this fuel cut thing. This past week I've been reading a lot of misc. shit and I swear I remember reading about fuel cut. Here is a clip from the 100AAQ article on it:

Why'd they do this?? Well, should the wastegate ever malfunction in such a way as to allow the turbo to spin out of control, the ECU will stop firing the cylinders to save the turbo from exploding. This is not the only method the ECU has to limit the turbo operation, but it is the last and most desperate. The mass air limit at which the ECU will fuel cut was based off of the maximum amount of fuel that the stock fuel pump and injectors could deliver to the engine cylinders.

Not to be argumentative with your tfoti, but I dont think a rich condition will cause fuel cut. I can see how it could be confused though, the air flowing out of a boost leak big enough could keep the boost pressure from raising high enough to open the wastegate or open further, but still increase airflow enough to hit fuel cut. I remember reading this past week about fuel cut, the MAF reads on a funny scale, IIRC once it reads a 7 it cuts fuel. I am still trying to find that article, I'll post up when I do.

this dsm store says this afc works well with bigger injectors.

u dont NEED dsmlink, but obviously it is well worth the extra money! if you can afford to put the E316G on the car, then get injectors, like you want to do now, you can afford the $100 DIY wideband and $550 dsmlink, and $200 eprom... just wait till next payday like everyone else does... if you take the cheap way out, that what your car will be, cheap.

also, i wouldnt worry so much about adjusting timing because your A/F ratio is really what you want right at first.

15psi on a 16g with stock fuel is CRAZY! do you WANT to kill your motor? i think like 12psi should be the MAX for stock fuel... hell i have 950's and @ 20psi i'm at about 40-45% at WOT around 5500rpm with a 11.1:1 ratio... and they are more then double stocks size... either lay off the gas peddle, or turn that boost down.

EDIT: that link lies... the SAFC tricks the ecu into thinking that the airflow is different throught the MAFT so thus getting more fuel, and esencially tuning BACKWORDS... you want more fuel for less flow, which is why this setup will NOT work with larger injectors, the MAFT would have to read negative airflow in order to idle correctly in the 14.7:1 A/F target with something like 750's+ thus... not working

Performance chip < SAFC < DSMlink... DSMlink FTW!!!!

Re: fuel cut?searched for 45min on here

well that MAS mod helped it out yep no more fuel cut, turned boost to 13psi and car feels way faster cause that mod i guess.

bigger injectors will be this weeks purchase cause i only have 350$ to spend and craigslist has 680cc's for 200$ guy said he tested them and they actully flowed 690cc.

good idea for the 350$ or should i buy somthing else with it?like this:

Re: fuel cut?searched for 45min on here

Fuel cut has nothing to do with fuel delivery. It's a pre-programmed airflow cap imposed by the ECU. Boost leaks are the most common cause of fuel cut because of the escaping intake charge.

As the turbo builds boost, the airflow is pouring out of the boost leak causing the turbo to flow more than it normally would at your set boost level. This causes an inflated airflow number at the ECU and it cuts the spark.

Put your honeycombs back in the MAS, fix your boost leak and everything will be fine.

Re: fuel cut?searched for 45min on here

Nice. Now snag yourself a little SAFC action and you'll be set to run bigger injectors as long as they are 650's... the 680's are a bit too big.
