I have just put a new motor, water pump, altanator, practically evrything is brand new, but after you drive it it wont start back. You have to let it sit about 15 minutes before it will start. I have tried everything I know including a new ecm. Can anyone help?

Re: 2000 Chevy Mtro wont start hot
My 93 is doing the same thing. Yesterday when it got up to 96 degrees here in Texas my car would not start right away as usual. Not sure it it was related to temperature. It would crank over for about 6 or 7 seconds and then kind of rumble and start as if it wasn't getting fuel. This was after driving around town when the motor was hot. I thought maybe replace fuel filter? I've got it just haven't had the time to put it on. Am i on the right track? Thanks.

Re: 2000 Chevy Mtro wont start hot
It starts up first try, but when you drive it thats when it has problems. It will crank, but acts like something is getting hot, and has to cool down before it will start again. It cranks fine, but acts like its having problems getting fuel. Yesterday I mess with the ect sensor and it started right away, so I think that could be my problem. There are two wires that look like they might be breaking right at the plugin. I taped them up, and my check engine light went off, but then I hit a bump and it came back on. Any ideals? Everything on the car is brand new except the fuel pump, starter, and wiring harness.

try and narrow it down, next time it acts up see if you can get someone to crank it for you, pull coil wire out of cap and place it next to piece of metal and see if your getting spark while its being cranked

![]() Repair your ECT wiring. Gently remove the pins from the connector, cut and expose some fresh wire and solder it to the pins, then reinsert them into the connector. I've had to do this with a lot of our IAT connectors. -MechanicMatt
