Hi,
I have a newly acquired MPV that slams hard into gear between 20-30 mph, if you lightly touch the gas is doesn't happen, if you jump on the gas it doesn't happen. Only occurs on avgerage acceleration. I wanted to go to the dealer with info in hand so they don't balk. I have heard rumors of tranmission module reflashing. ANY words of wisdom are appreciated...Thanks Kev Last edited by ivorman; 04-01-2005 at 08:22 AM. |

Re: 2004 MPV Hard Slam/Shift @ 20-30mph
Yes, it is a common problem and dealer can reprogram tranny with latest update to fix the problem.

REcall in the midst
Went to the dealer today, and the service tech mentioned that a there is a recall to "re-flash the firmware" on the transmission module. Hopefully that will end the only problem we have encountered with this great little van......

Re: 2004 MPV Hard Slam/Shift @ 20-30mph
Did the dealer fix the problem? Our 2001 at 61,000 is starting to shift harder under "normal" acceleration otherwise its fine.

Re: 2004 MPV Hard Slam/Shift @ 20-30mph
there aren't any shift-related software reprograms for the 2001 mpv

Re: 2004 MPV Hard Slam/Shift @ 20-30mph
I'm seeing similar problem with 2003. Any comment on the 2003 model?
