Re: srs

srs means there is a fault in the airbag system which would put his car 90 or newer you have to retrieve the srs code was the car in an accident or any fender benders if not then you just have a fault in the supplemental restraint system

Re: srs

Also remember
if your SRS light comes on, it doesn't necessarily mean there's a problem with your air bags.
As previously states it could be a problem with the restraint system (Seatbelts)
If that's the case take the car to honda.
Seatbelts have a lifetime warranty.
The 6th gens are known for having a problem with the seatbelt sensor on the drivers side

Ther are other factors (other than the airbag) that can malfunction that can cause the SRS light to come on

Re: srs

On most vehicles, the airbag light should come on for @6 seconds, and then go off if the system is working properly. If there is a fault or a problem in the system, the light will remain illuminated, or flash continuously. If the airbag light does not work properly, some vehicles have an audible tone that sounds indicating a problem with the airbag light system. When the light is on (or the tone is sounding), the airbag will NOT deploy, even in an accident. Most systems can only be diagnosed using a scanner designed for the airbag system, however some use flash codes to indicate the problem. The scanners at Auto Zone or the ones that sell for @ $50 will not access the airbag system, only the engine systems (check engine light).
This website gives you the procedure for diagnosing and resetting some systems without a scanner. Some vehicle manufacturers accommodate that (like Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Infinity, Honda, Acura, Ford, Lincoln, Mazda & Mercury) and some require a scan tool. http://www.airbagsolutions.com/
Check out these websites also for more info on airbag systems and the light.

Thank you, Dugan!!!
Tons of information!

According to Haynes:

Air bag system has its own supplemental battery - this might be one source of fault we are getting (poor contact or failed battery).

Air bag system has two sensors - another source of fault codes. Once again it might be a bad contact somewhere. The problem is we need an FSM if we want to find them. Haynes has no word about them.
