92 sonoma K&n cold air intake hlep
I just purchased a cold air intake kit for my 92 sonoma. It has a 4.3l v6 tbi engine. The instructions fail to mention that there is a hose that connects under the air intake assembly. You are supposed to remove the whole assembley. But what do I do about the hose that leads down to the engine. It is just sitting there. What does it do? Has anyone delt with this before?

Re: 92 sonoma K&n cold air intake hlep
The hose, is it about 2" in diameter? Flexible and foil covered? If so, that is a duct that runs from the air cleaner to a shroud on the exhaust manifold. It directs warm air to the throttle body. It's there to prevent ice up in the throttle body, and called a "Warm air intake system". Yes, heated intake, engines don't like to breathe cold air for several reasons. You'll have fewer problems and better performance if you remove the cold air intake kit, and return it. Spend the money on an accessory that really works, like curb feelers
