What kind of scanner are you using? Does the scanner have OBD 1.5 specific software installed for a 94-95 Bonneville?

Wink Re: 1995 Bonnevillle OBD reading

I use a Matco Tools 9640B professional enhanced scan tool on the 94-95. It is actually a KAL or Actron built unit. Actron has a similar unit # CP9150 that will work the same as the Matco. Of course, the Tech 11 and Snapon MT2400 with key #7 will work, but are much higher priced.
Click Here and Here for more info on the Actron CP9150.

BTW, The Equus 3120 can perform diagnostic scans for the following OBD I vehicles:
  • General Motors: all 1982-1993, and some 1994-1995 models
  • Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury: 1983-1995 models with EEC-IV systems (KOEO, KOER, timing check, cylinder balance test, output state test, and wiggle test)
  • Toyota/Lexus: 1991-1995
  • Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth: 1984-1995
  • Jeep: 1993-1995

Re: 1995 Bonnevillle OBD reading

I have a 95 Bonneville and I use an Auto Xray codescout 2500 with the mfg. specific cable, (blue). The car has and OBD I module but uses an OBD II connector(transitional).

Re: 1995 Bonnevillle OBD reading

Maybe a little late but Try the AutoXray AX6000, use the blue manufacture specific cable, says it will read the codes on 94-95 GM with OBD2 plug mated to OBD1 compliant systems. (This unit was under 400$ at Etool box dot com,, if I recall correctly)

Re: 1995 Bonnevillle OBD reading

Yes the 1994 GM C and H bodies used the OBD2 Connector, and OBD2 codes and was OBD 1 Compliant.... Most Actrons I have used will read the 94-95's without a problem..

Re: 1995 Bonnevillle OBD reading

Yes I found a P0101 for MAF sensor out of range,, but when I tried to read the data stream I received the message: Vehicle not responding.
I am using the AutoXray AX6000 on the 95 VIN K Pontiac Bonneville..
Going to be contacting AutoXray and see what else I need.

Good Luck! You could have purchased an Actron CP9150 for $150.00 and would not have to "be contacting AutoXray and see what else you need"!

Thanks papajojn51, but I offered my advice 6-months ago in post #4. This thread was inactive & should have been closed when you resurrected it on 2/20 - in post #7.

BTW, in the future, please avoid posting or voting in outdated threads. It merely clutters up the message board and makes it more difficult for fellow members to sort through the vast amount of information contained on the boards. If the thread is more than three (3) months old and without recent relevant feedback, please avoid adding additional post to the thread. Thank you for your cooperation.
