Is there a brake fluid 'dipstick'?

1999/3.5L/95k here.

So the other day I was checking fluids, and when I took the cap off the brake fluid reservoir I noticed there was no little 'dipstick' thing coming down from the cap. I could've sworn there was one. I'm just wondering if there is, because if so, mine must have fallen off into the fluid, and I'm not sure if that can do any harm.

Now that I think of it, there's a small possibility this could've been the power steering reservoir. I don't think so, but just in case, I guess it may be helpful to know if the PS reservoir cap has a dipstick as well. The reservoir in question is to the right, rear side of the engine (looking in from front of car), near the firewall I guess.

The PS reservior does have a dipstick, it however is on the left side of the engine.

The brake fluid reservior does not have a dipstick, it should have a marking on the plastic though indicating full.

You mean the right side of the engine right? The left side of the car is always the drivers side.

well yes. technically thats correct, but ive found its difficult to check the brake fluid, etc when sitting in the drivers seat, so when I give directions like that, I just assume the person is standing in front of the car with the hood open going "where the heck is it" I shouldve clarified though, thanks for the reminder.
