Exclamation 86-89 Accord EX 2 Door 5 Speed

I met a guy who will give me an Accord for free, He has lived at his house for 3 years now and it has been sitting in the driveway the whole time, came with the house... Its in mint shape, but has no keys.. Its a 2 door coupe , 5 speed Ex model, maybe ex-i.... forgot to check what year, i am pretty sure its an 89 tho.

I was just wondering if anyone could give me some Specs on the Car/Engine and let me know if an EX/EX-I is worth putting some performance parts into...

Any help would be appriciated, thanks

I'll try n post pics soon....

Re: 86-89 Accord EX 2 Door 5 Speed

Well I currently have no Vehicle, which really sucks, and i know a site where i can get a b16 with tranny and ecu/harness for like $1500.00 imported from japan with under 40,000 kms on it... Is the stock 2.0L in those decent? if so i might just fix it up.. the guy said the tranny was screwed, and wouldnt shift when he sat inside, so i checked it out, and it has a short throw shift kit on it, he just doesnt know anything about vehicles...lol...any help appreciated, thanks

Re: 86-89 Accord EX 2 Door 5 Speed

So it turns out be a 1989 Honda Accord LX, 2 Door Coupe, 2.0L carbed, 5 speed....already has short shift kit, nice plug wires...that about it, *No keys... very good shape, only thing missing is the top for the air filter...haha, i'm going to run the VIN # to make sure its clean and see how hard it will be to register it..
(no pink slips or anything, thinking abandoned vehicle would come in effect)

Re: 86-89 Accord EX 2 Door 5 Speed

just go to the wreckers and find an accord with a key and get all the locks for the doors and trunk. You will have to change the whole steering colum in that because the switch does not come out. i had an 86 where my key broke off inside the switch so i had to buy a new colum...good luck
