Exclamation '02 different? No egr? No coil?

Hi All,

I cleared my O2 sensor code after fixing the broken wires and now have no codes, but my 2002 Villager still won't go over 4,000 RPMS and I can barely accelerate on to the freeway. According the only manual I could find that is for 93 - 01 (not 02) I should look at the EGR, but I cannot find one ANYWHERE. I know exactly what egr valves look like and there is nothing like it. Also, I don't have an iginition coil like illustrated in the manual. There is no coil wire going to the center of my distributor cap???? Just 6 wires going to the cylinders. That's it. What's up?

Re: '02 different? No egr? No coil?

The 01 and 02's DO NOT have a EGR Valve.

QUote from 2002 Villager Service Manual:
(Ignition Coil-----The ignition coil is an integral part of the distributor assembly and is serviced as a complete unit by replacing the distributor.)

2002 Online Service Manual link:

enter 123456789 for library card # and submit, it then takes you to a library, click submit, scroll down to Auto Repair Reference Center and click on it. You should have availablity to service manual.

Wow.... I'm speechless! Your reply is the BEST I have EVER SEEN on any forum! Dude.... You ROCK!

The manual you referred me to is way better than the only Haynes manual I could find, which only went up to 2001, and is definitely different than my '02!

Well, I have a problem and maybe you can help (or maybe I should post this elsewhere on the site)? If I accelerate very gradually the van runs fine, but whether I am in gear OR IN NEUTRAL the engine will not go over 4,000 RPMs like there's a governor on it now or something, and when I'm in gear and driving it sounds like when it hits 4k RPM's it doesn't want to shift (takes a while), doesn't downshift properly, and starts to run like doo-doo. If I go REALLY easy on it I can drive around. What's up?
