2005 - Sound coming from drivers' side door
I have NO idea what's going on w/ my car or what to do to fix it. There is a strange, high pitched 'whining/ringing/buzzing' coming from my driver's side door constantly and will not stop, even when the car is not running with no key in the ignition. I even disconnected the negative battery cable to see if it would go away, but the 'whine' is still there. Any ideas?!?! Help!

We need more information...
Does the car have power windows/locks? Any aftermarket equipment installed? How long does the noise last after you disconnect the battery? It almost sounds like a lock or window motor that's shorting out and about to go bad. Put your ear down by the speaker and see if it's coming from there (could be the radio going bad). The door is easy to take apart, which you'll have to do anyways to fix it, so that's where I would start

Re: 2005 - Sound coming from drivers' side door
car has power locks and windows. That's the thing, the noise DOESN'T go away after disconnecting the battery!! It does sound like it's coming from the speaker, though....

Well that's good news because that gives you two options to trace it down; either take the door panel off and remove the speaker (which takes around 5 minutes) or remove the radio (which takes around 5 seconds if you have the tool). I'm assuming you have the factory radio... if not then the radio was probably installed incorrectly or is just plain going bad.
