Angry Sagging driver's door

My son's 2-door coupe has a 'sagging' driver-side door. It started catching on the exterior pillar trim piece, and progressed to where the bottom section of the inside door panel got caught on the sill and busted. I removed that bottom part so that the door will operate, but does anyone have advice on how to adjust the door, and bring it back in proper alignment?

Re: Sagging driver's door

The hinges have bolts. You can suppor the door, loosen the upper bolts, and tap the hinge forward, then retighten the bolts. Or loosen the bolts for the lower hinge, and lift the door to pull it to the rear.
If the hinge is bent enough that this wont work, you can get a hinge from a junkyard. You may have to unbolt the 'check-strap' to be able to open the door far enough to get a wrench on the bolts.
Few owners bother to squirt oil on the hinges - which will lead to door sag. So will leaning on the door while it is open. So will letting the door fly open all the way suddenly, such as in a high wind or if having the door open when as the brakes are applied suddenly.
