95 Lumina Sedan cooling Issues
My girl has a lumina as stated in the header, with a 3.1 .
Her car fans will not turn on at all, the temp gauge will go over the 3\4 marker and nothing. So far I have checked all three HVAC fuses, and they look fine. I have check continuity in two of the sockets. One of them has around 10 Ohms of resistance. Anyone think that might have a part in the problem? Turned on the AC and the secondary fan Didn't switch on. Only other thing I can think of is A. a shortage, or B. a Bad ground. Any advice? |

Re: 95 Lumina Sedan cooling Issues
Check your fan relays, I believe the 1995 had two as opposed to 97+ that had three. Could be mistaken on that. Check the fan fuses, not HVAC. If you feel pretty comfy around 12v vehicle voltage (some people are not) try applying known good (FUSED!!) voltage to the fans themselves. If they turn on, I'd bet it's a relay or fuse. If not, you may have a dead fan on your hands. Though to be honest it sounds like a relay.

I agree with Cadgear, it sounds like bad fan relays to me too.

Re: 95 Lumina Sedan cooling Issues
Yeah, after posting this I had thought about that too. Relays are pry the easiest thing to check. And they easilly go out, not much to them.
And the closest thing to fan fuses I can find are those HVAC fuses. I was thinking maybe GM interlocked the fan and HVAC to the same fuse. I know it's happened before. |
