Adding a Z-71 or Equivalent Package to an 06 Avalanche

I did a quick search and didn't come up with anything so here goes...

I'm currently looking at an 06 Avy, 4x4 to buy , but it has the "comfort" ride package, not the Z-71 Package, but possesses all the other typicals (5.3L FFV, 3.42 Gear Ratio...)

Would it be feasible (economically and functionally) to add the skid plates, and the shocks to the Avy to "make" it a Z-71? I'm not too concerned with the shocks because you can find good 4x4 shops anywhere, especially here in Denver, but what about the skid plates and armoring on the bottom?

I'll readily admit that I'm not a "core" 4x4 junkie, but the vehicle will need to go over its fair share of rocky, rutted, sometimes water-covered, and somewhat nasty mountain roads to get to my favorite mountain biking, hiking, and fishing haunts. Nothing extreme mind you, just what I consider "typical" mountain driving I'm just a bit leery of buying a "non" Z-71 because the current Z-71 package on my Silverado has saved me a time or ten, strictly going off of the gouges and scrapes on the oil pan and tranny case "armoring."

So any thoughts, please?

If it is possible, what about these questions: Could I buy the stuff off of e-bay, are the holes for such armoring pre-drilled in the undercarriage so it can be done by a noob like me (aka just bolting the stuff on), or would I need to go to a Chevy Stealer...oops Dealership to buy this stuff? Or would a good aftermarket place do it? Any pricing ideas or thoughts at all too would be much appreciated

Thanks in advance.
