Angry Help Please

My dad owns a 2002 Volkswagen GLS 1.8L Turbo. I have a problem The EPC light comes on and the service engine soon light as well. Anyone I talk to can't give me a straight answer. When it comes on I have to actually pump the gas pedal to get the car to start. I didn't think you were suppose to pump the gas on a fuel injected car. Can anyone give me a straight answer please on what I might try doing to fix this problem?

Re: Help Please

gotta figure out what the code is to start. Could be a million different things.

No, you shouldn't need to pump the gas
