buick regal 94 custom stalling problem

ive had the car for almost a year, and like two months after was when the problem started. the car would not want to start but eventually after waiting a couple of minutes the car would start right up. i bought a new starter and replaced the one it had now it starts, but recently the car is stalling. the SES light comes on and each time before the car stalls you can see the lights in the dash dim, the steering wheal gets tight and then it stalls... it usually happens when the car is coasting and when i apply the breaks like for a turn... i put it in nutrual and it starts back up... dont know what it could be... if anyone has any advice please let me know... thanks

Does the car buck like a stick shift when you forget to push in the clutch coming to a stop? If so, the torque converter lock-up is sticking and not unlocking the converter.
Get the car scanned to see what triggered the CEL. It may be just because the engine is lugging and about to stall, but double check in case it has stored a hard code. Being a 94, which is a crossover/hybrid GM diagnostics system, your car could have the 12 pin or 16 pin ALDL connector,. This car may not be able to be scanned by the tools used at Advance and Auto Zone where they scan for free, so you may have to take it to a shop to have it scanned.

Re: buick regal 94 custom stalling problem

thanks i'll look in to that...but the thing is that it doesnt even buck, the why i know if its stalls is by the wheel getting stiff or i just see the check gauge light in the dash turn on...ive taken it to shops and they cant find anything wrong with it... so i dont know... the thing it does do here and there is like kinda buck when i accelerate from a stop... any ideas?..

A couple more questions:

1. what engine do you have (3.1 or 3.8)?

2. Does your car have a tachometer, and if so, does the tack drop to zero, then jump up, then the car stalls and then the warning lights come on?
