Tranny temp gauge

Tried to install on 99 gtp with pacesetters. I used the plug on top of the transmission, near to the crossover. Unfortunately, with the sending unit installed, I couldn't get the crossover back into place. I thought about putting a dent in it, but would rather not. Any suggestions, or alternatives?

Re: Tranny temp gauge

might have to splice into the wires further down. Or else go to a Junkyard and get both male and female plugs of that connecter and splice them together and use it as sort of a T-harness like your installing remote start.

Re: Tranny temp gauge

I should've taken a picture... I'm not sure if you know what I'm talking about. There is a plug (to be removed, and sending unit installed) on the transmission almost directly below the crossover pipe. The brass post for the transmission temp. sending unit/sensor extends straight up ~2 inches which if the crossover and sending unit were installed would create a conflict.

Re: Tranny temp gauge

I have a ScanGauge which plugs into the ODBII port and it displays transmission fluid temperature.

Re: Tranny temp gauge

Why do you need a transmission temperature gauge? Do plan on doing any towing? Extensive mods like Stage III? The TFT sensor and circuits in the tranny and PCM module will do a good job of letting you know if it ever overheats or is within safe operating parameters.

No, I don't really need it. That would be why I asked for alternatives

Re: Tranny temp gauge

Ah I see. IMO you should scrap the project. Looks like you will have the get the crossover modified which I would not recommend especially if the headers and crossover are ceramic coated but that is up to you.

No real time KR gauge?

Re: Tranny temp gauge

I thought about it, but pretty pricey... I assume you're talking about the aeroforce interceptor
