New Glass pack

hey eveyone. new to the forums. anywho, i have just purchased a new glass pack. i haven't installed it yet and i didn't plan on it til i got some facts. i bought it knowing 100% that the noise would not be street legal. I was just wondering if anyone knew how to possibly make it a little quieter. It needs to pass NH inspection. I'll be leaving the stock muffler on for this coming inspection but if anyone could let me know anything you know. I'm also wondering if buying a chrome exhaust tip from VIP or Autozone or something would possibly muffle it a bit. that about sums it up. please spare me the "why'd you buy it and want to quiet it down"... as if i WANT to... it's the law.
