99' Blazer having block heater problems
I'm having problems with my block heater on my 99' Blazer, it doesnt seem to be drawing power when it's plugged in. It was working about 3 weeks ago but has since stopped working! Could this just be a blown fuse? I tried cleaning the plug off with a wire brush last week cause it looked kind of corroded so i figured it might be a connection problem, but this did not help me out at all. It's -40 to -50 out this week with the windchill where i live, so this is kind of a major problem as my truck sits outside 24/7 in the cold. Any help or suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated!

Check and or replace the power cord.
Is it getting power threw it to heater or unpluged from heater? MT

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by " Is it getting power threw it to heater or unpluged from heater?". Do you mean, did the plug come unplugged from the heater?

If you have the block freeze plug type heater .
The heater cord from the plugin that you plug into to the heater element. Sometimes the cord goes bad and sometimes it comes unplugged or lose at the heater element. MT

I'm not exactly sure how to check to see if the cord has come loose from the heater core. Will i have to get under my truck to see it? It was -50 this morning and my trucks not starting now. I was just outside and tried to follow the cord but i lost site of it after awhile. I live in canada and i'm pretty sure most vehicles in canada come stock with block heaters. If that helps any as to what type of block heater it is. I cant get under my truck right now there's too much snow on the ground. Any other suggestion? Thank you very much for you help so far and your quick replies, it's greatly appreciated. I consider myself fairly handy for my age, but I'm not too educated about vehicles, so you're help and advice is a great help

If you can not feel or see it from on top.
You will just have to figure a way to get under or to it and see if it is just unplugged or a bad cord. If not unplugged and cord is not bad then you will have to replace the heater. A good ohm meter or volt meter will check cord. And also tell you if heater has any ohm resistance. Good luck.
