Re: tranny p1762

well the only tranny code i could find like that was p 0762 which is shift solenoid circut c stuck on.p0138 is o2 sensor circut high volts bank 1 sensor 2.The wiring harness for the tranny runs down the driver side inside of the frame rail along with the o2 sensorwiring. That may be a good place to start troubleshooting.Check for loose or broken wires. If not you may have a bad valve body and o2 sensor.Good luck I hope it is a quick fix for you

Anyone know how to fix this problem.I have this code coming up on my 02 Dakota. It pulls away in third gear most of the time, but sometimes it sticks in first gear.

EDIT: I've done some searching and reading and figured out that, when it stays in third gear this is a safe mode. Now I figure I have to change the governor pressure sensor and transducer.I can do the job myself I just don't have any info on where the parts are.My question now is where are they on or in the tranny?

Re: tranny p1762

First off what engine to you have? 4.7L will be different.

***3.9L, 5.2L & 5.9L only***
Buy the new parts and pull the pan pull four 7/16 bolts and two T25 torx bolts to remove the solenoid aluminum block and remove the two items and replace. Don't over tighten the T25 torx hand tight with a screw driver is all they need.
