Tick Noise that just wont go away!!!
I notice several people having problems with a tick noise. Well so far this week I have spent 500 bucks and still the noise exists. I had the fan clutch replaced which apparently was where the tick was coming from. Still the tick goes on and on. I take it to a chevy dealer per my mechanic for a PCR program that chevy has a bulletin for. Still the tick persists. The chevy mechanic told me the sound is coming from the water pump? I see no leaks and I am now broke with a car ticking away. MY mechanic said he doubts its the water pump but will take a look at it on Monday. Of course I asked for a price and he quoted another 400. ANy ideas on what else this could be or any symptoms I can look for to see if it is indeed the water pump?

Re: Tick Noise that just wont go away!!!
It maybe an internal lifter thats ticking. Before you go pouring another $400 into the Blazer I would suggest trying some Auto-rx. I have used this product in 3 of my vehicles and it has done wonders. From the engine running smoother and quieter to increasing compression.
www.auto-rx.com read more about this product here www.bobistheoilguy.com look in the oil additives section. |

Take the belt off to eliminate any pulley or ft bearing source.

Good advice Maxwedge. I am pretty sure it is not any of the pulleys but that would be a good way of eliminating it. Hadn't thought of it. Thanks.
