Strange 'whirring' noise

On my '99 Sable, when the car is started, I hear what can best be described as a 'whirring' noise. Give it a little gas, and the noise gets faster. Usually when the vehicle warms up it goes away, but lately have noticed that it takes longer for the noise to stop.

No apparent problems, so tranny slip, no hesitation, etc. Fuel pump, tranny clutch, any ideas?

Thanks,
Ed

Unhappy Re: Strange 'whirring' noise

The noise got worse, took it in to the most trusted/recommended transmission shop. Going to require a rebuild
