Civic ep type R
Hi guys..
I would like to share my recent built, civic ep type R. It's a quick build OOB which takes me 2 weeks to finish it. Actually nothing special with this civic, but I love with the result, I feel kinda relief since my brain was flooded with the images of this civic as one of my favourite car. But having a real car is too far away from reality soo.. making the 1/24 of it hopefully brings the sun rise to ease my "dark cloud" in my brain ![]() So there you go.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks for looking. Any comments are welcome. Christopher |

Re: Civic ep type R
Polish out that hood and it'll be great!! Looks very nice! White with black always looks hot. Good job!

Re: Civic ep type R
Nice job, I really love the red interior accents, sets it off! Nice panel lines also, but something has to be done with the hood, it's not perfect IMHO - no harm was meant anyway!

Re: Civic ep type R
Thanks guys. I also noticed that there is something wrong with the hood. To tell you the truth, I used $3 cheap gloss black spray paint for the hood since I run out my black TAMIYA spray can. My dumb. That's what I learned from this kit. My big disappointment. Can anyone suggest me how to fix it up?
Thanks in adv |

Re: Civic ep type R
I think it looks great. I actually thought you meant to do that to the hood only because the rest of the car was very clean.
As was recommended you could probably polish the hood out and save it, or at least knock down the roughness and throw a sheet of carbon fiber over it. Anyway, I really like it. The ying-yang paint schemes are my favorite on most cars. Chris |

Re: Civic ep type R
Change the rims. Put in some larger ones. It will change everything!

Re: Civic ep type R
Pick up some Tamiya rubbing compound or someting similar and just polish the hood out. Depending on how rough it really is, you might also want to pick up some 2000 grit sand paper, soak it in water and dish soap, and lightly sand the hood. Make sure the ruest of the car is masked off before doing that. As suggested you could get it smoothed out and throw some carbon fiber decal on there as well. I like the wheels. Big wheels aren't necisarily the best way to go.

Re: Civic ep type R
Thanks so much for all advices, guys. So yeah for sure, I need to polish it out. Actually, I'm bit scared with polishing because I always failed so many times with my previous kits. After I had sprayed clear throughout the whole body and left it for about 2 days, I began to polish. But it turned out that the shine look of the clear begin to fade. Is this normal? Or the problem comes from the polish product? I use general car polish (compound).

Re: Civic ep type R
Very nice Clean Build! I love JDM. Hey how do you do the black door outlines and where the body kits meet?

I dare not to say that it's JDM since I don't know what the criteria of JDM car is actually. If it is, I love JDM then haha For the body line, I used STAEDTLER pigment liner 0.05 (kinda marker). It's easy to use and save much time But the disadvantage is that it looks a bit thicker in bright colour body s.a white, yellow, silver, ...

I think it still looks good with those lines. JDM is Japanese Domestic Market. Hey how did you make it look like static on the tv?

![]() Let it dry for a week or so [it scared me on the beggining, but after I paint it,i hope that the week is endless, because i'm kinda lazy when it comes to polishing... But you can get a food dehydrator,it makes drying much faster! ![]() I wetsanded-coumpounded my R34 [died a loong time ago! ],it was the shiniest paintjob I ever had!But I primered/cleared/polished/waxed in less than a day and a half, without a food dehydrator. Clear cracked. Hope it helps!
