Miss All Speeds

dear sirs i have 2001 windstar se sport 3.8 i just fixed the intake plemun kit with revised valve cover that got rid of the check engine light got a miss through the hole range of gas got this before the intake job put new double platinum plugs and wires on more power but still miss or hasatation went down there today started it up starts fine dont die but when i pull the plastic
air breather tube buy the trottle body the engine dies as soon as you pull it off what does this sound like to you please help Jim

Hi Jim

Wanted to point out that if you pull the vacuum line as you did near the throttle body, that any of our vans will die immediately. By pulling it you induce a massive vacuum leak to the intake system. You say you completed the "plenum kit". Does that mean you replaced the isolator bolts etc.? If so and you had all that apart, I would look for a vacuum line that did not get re-attached for starters. Most small vacuum leaks are most noticeable at idle but it is somewhere for you to start.

im talking about the air breather tube to the air filter . yes i did the isolater
bolts,gaskets ,valve cover pcv valve and line every thing is connected that i took off . i think it mite be a injector problem going to check this out next thanks for the help jim
