Need HELP! 97 accord v6 ex RPMs fluctuating, speedometer works fine

Hello, this is the problem: My rpm tachometer does not work right. In the mornings the the rpms tachometer works fine, once the engine warms up or after a couple of drives the rpm tachometer stops working. Meaning it wont read or its just fluctuating from 0 to a lit over 1. The speedometer works fine.
Check engine light is the only thing that comes on. Got it scanned and it said P0725, vehicle speed sensor.

well according to what i just found by taking two minutes of my time id say that there where tons of recalls out for this vehicle some that have to do with the ignition switch but where im puzzled is that the tach measures rpms off the distributor commonly known as the blue wire coming out of the distributor and goes straight to the gauges so what i would do is check out this link for the recalls on your vehicle then do a search on this forum for service manuals and download the manual its the full service shop manual not some haynes or chilton manual im talkin 1200 pages big thats how big mine is so check it out it has detailed wiring diagrams all you have to have is adobe reader and have fun

hey thanks wiseguy, did look into it and yea i know alot of recalls and the only good thing is that i havent had that much of a problem with car. except with the rpms. Did check the wires and everything seemed fine. so after reading both links i just decided to give the ignition coil a shot. Sure enough i changed it and RPMs are working fine. Am happy that it was an easy fix.

Happy to help, that's what makes this and the other forums I'm involved with such a great resource.
