guage cluster
in my 01 cavalier the guage lights yo but the part where the mileage does not illuminate. you can't see the miles during the day or at night. i know where i can get a new one but want to know if this will help solve my problem and will the cluster show the mileage from the car it came off or my car i put it on.

If you swap your cluster for a 2001, It will read the miles from your car, not the cluster you took from. That bit of information is stored in the car's computer. I swapped my gauges for a brand new, 0 miles, Sunfire Cluster, but still reads my miles.

Shoulda took the computer too eh? Gotta love rotary ODOs, whatever it reads is what you get when you swap. Lol. Mine reads 176,000 KMs, and I have been through 4 2.4 engines, nice work GM!
