04 Sport Trac rear end question

I've notice a couple of times when taking my Sport trac out of 4lo that if I turn really sharp right after (without backing to make sure everything dissengages) that my rear end apears locked(rear wheels bind as lockers would when engaged). However, when I do not have my rig in 4x4, and spin the wheels, only one will spin.

So since it doesn't apear to have an LSD (since only one wheel spins when not in 4x4) can someone explain this to me? or are my boozing days finally catching up to me?

Re: 04 Sport Trac rear end question

It's probably not that the rear wheels are locked, but rather your front wheels are still engaged and the transfer case is causing the binding. Since you have 4WD rather than AWD, you don't have a center differential so your front wheels are not able to turn at a different speed than the rears, causing the binding the feels like a rear LSD (and not the kind of LSD from your boozing days).

Possibly, but I don't get the actual breaking like I would when in 4x4 tho, it feels more like just the two reear wheels are locked.
