'92 2WD Ranger Wheel Bearings-Need Help
I want to replace my front rotors/calipers and wheel bearings on my Ranger and I have a question about the bearing races. Do these new rotors (autozone duralast) come with built in races? I don't see anything that looks like a removable race in the old rotor, and I don't see how the races that came in the box with the bearings would fit in the hub assembly even with a press. Sorry if this is a stupid question. I have replaced boat trailer bearings a couple of times, but this is my first attempt at doing auto bearings on my own. Thanks very much for any help. Don't need the wheels to fall off!

Ehh....I'm not to keen on the 2wd but the races shouldn't be built in. Call your autoparts store to find out.

Re: '92 2WD Ranger Wheel Bearings-Need Help
Yes, the new rotors will have bearing races already in place on them.
However, in the future, if you need to replace just the bearings, it is possible to R&R just the races. Just use a brass pin & a hammer to knock the old races out, and a bearing race driver set to install the new race. |
