97' GTP will not start! No spark. No wrn light

My car died a time or two over a two week period, it always started again. The strange thing is no error codes were triggered. It had been running fine for a few days. One day I went out to start the car and it would not fire. There seems to be no spark. I took the coil module off my dad's 3.8 and got nothing. Bought a new computer....nothing. Any ideas?

its sounds either spark or fuel. And check your fuses we had a car here that we did all kinds of work on just to find a blown ign switch fuse

The symptoms you describe are common when a crankshaft position sensor starts to go bad.
One sensor to eliminate is the MAF sensor located on top of the throttle body.
Disconnect it. Run the car for a few days and see if your starting issues go away. If they do, then I'd suspect it instead.

man, in your origonal post it sounds like my car. Perfectly fin untill one day it just died. Noticed the track off light was lit, so I played around and then all of a sudden had spark again. Drove it home and replaced the crank position sensor. Havnt had any more problems.

There is a very detailed tech article on how to do this. If I were you I'd start there. Definatly a DIY job. Only took me an hour and a half and I was being very maticulous with everything.

Good Luck!!!

The crank position sensor gets my vote. They often go bad and will not throw a code in the computer. This fools a lot of techs too. Change the sensor and the car should start right up.
