yes in back of engine compartment....I think its to far back to go on pass side fender.....there are a couple lines going into back of plenum but cant find a port where a line is missing....will look at intake closer........

Hi

On the '96 there are two: one easily visible on the right fender well (black rectangular box) for the engine compartment users, and the other up under the cowl behind the right strut near the firewall which is part of the A/C vent control system. As you can plug the line and regain A/C vent control, that might be a good place to start.

Also, the Evaporative emission purge solenoid uses vacuum. Since you had the P0442 before, that might be a likely suspect as well. It should be located on the firewall, and I think should look like this (The one in this photo is rotated I think.As shown I believe it is upside down relative to your van:

Good luck. If all fails I would pull off the cowl again (or maybe for the first time) so you can thoroughly search. It comes off and on pretty easily, especially with the later models like yours.

thank you very much,the vacuum line went just as you said, I removed the cowl again and the vacuum box was as you said up underneath and sure enough that where the line was unplugged..so far the miss has stopped , heater controls are working, I changed the fuel filter today and bought some barrymans chemitool as well thank you so much
